Who We Are
Welcome to Confessing Christ Lutheran Church, a modern, traditional, and confessional Lutheran church. We are a brand new mission congregation that is being planted here in Statesville by the Evangelical Lutheran Conference and Ministerium, a small synod based out of Pennsylvania. Our goal is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to His Holy Scriptures and in keeping with the Lutheran Confessions.
Our Mission Statement:
“Standing firm upon God’s Word.”
Our mission statement comes from the quote that Martin Luther said at the Diet of Worms where he answered for the Biblical doctrines of the Reformation and whether or not he would recant. He declared that unless the opposition in Rome showed him where he was wrong from Holy Scripture he would not recant, for it is upon the Word of God that we as Christians have the revelation of God and His call for us to die to self and follow after Christ.
Confessing Christ Lutheran Church is a church that stands firm upon the Word of God. We make no apologies for what the Word says and boldly proclaim the truth to all within the sound of our voice.
That said, truth without love is unbearable. We speak the truth with love for those whom we proclaim it to, seeking to bind up the wounded and tend to the sick. We proclaim the convicting Law of God, yes, but always with the saving hope of the Gospel.
This is our mission statement, our ultimate goal: to proclaim the Word of God as we stand firm upon it through all the storms of life and attacks of the devil.
Our Identity
Our congregation is built upon five characteristics as Christians:

Biblical: We are based upon the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, seeking to proclaim and preach it with Law and Gospel in balance through expository methods.

Sacramental: We have a strong focus upon the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. Baptism is available to any who have never been baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit before. Communion is administered weekly to those who are baptized.

Confessional: We stand firm in the confessions of the faith and make no apologies for holding to our positions in Holy Scripture. We confess the Apostle’s, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.

Lutheran: We adhere to the Lutheran Confessions, particularly the unaltered Augsburg Confession. We are Lutheran in identity and doctrine. We worship using the Lutheran Service Book and preserve the traditions as best as we can.

Evangelical: We are driven to share the Gospel with our neighbors, to take it to where it is not, and so proclaim the hope and promises of Jesus Christ with all.
